Across every publication produced by a World Bank unit based in the LAC region (all Global Practices, dated January 2024 onward), People (HD) — Education, Health & Social Protection — draws 539,306 downloads across 218 publications, 36% of the region's total: one of LAC's two largest groups, alongside Prosperity.
Where LAC stands out is across the Bank's regions: LAC's People (HD) is the most-read of any Bank region, about twice the next and ~19% of all the Bank's HD readership (see the whole-Bank page). Our 8 flagship Digital & AI Series publications draw 181,565 downloads (68% of LAC Education); LAC also authored the Bank's most-read work on reading instruction and TVET.

Sources. Downloads are read from both World Bank repositories — WB Documents (documentos.bancomundial.org) and the Open Knowledge Repository (openknowledge.worldbank.org) — and summed across every language version of each publication.
Window. Publications with a document date in 2024–2026. Reader geography is from WB Documents (~99% of its downloads are geo-located; OKR downloads are not). “United States & high-income” is the World Bank's residual region grouping, here almost entirely the United States.
Scope is every publication dated January 2024 onward whose owning unit is based in the LAC region (unit code contains the region tag, e.g. HLCED, ELCPV, SLCSO, ILCT1), across all Global Practices. Every group, People (HD) included, is counted from the whole-Bank enumeration of the LAC region by owning unit of record (WB Documents + verified OKR), which captures the long-tail and blank-owner pubs a narrower LAC-only pass had missed, so this page is the LAC slice of the whole-Bank page and reconciles with it. People (HD) here is the four practices (Education, Health, Social Protection, and Gender & Human Capital); the “Human Development (anchor/other)” bucket holds HD-anchor pubs outside them. The team's curated HD deep-dive — which additionally credits widely-read titles the owner code tags to a global unit — is on the LAC Human Development page. Blank-owner pubs are classified by title (flagged unverified) and remain lower bounds. Reader geography is WB Documents only. Publications by global/anchor units that write about LAC without being LAC-based are out of scope.
